About homLiv
homLiv is an Indonesian brand that emerged during the COVID-19 pandemic as a beacon of innovation and opportunity for local craftsmen and small and medium enterprises (SMEs). The brand was founded by Yudiana Lyn, a driven entrepreneur who graduated cum laude with a Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems from BINUS University.
Rather than seeing the pandemic as a setback, Yudiana saw it as a turning point. She noticed a surge in home cooking and baking and turned this insight into a business opportunity. Working with local craftsmen—many of whom had previously specialized in wooden batik crafts—she led a pivot to producing wooden cooking utensils. This strategic shift gave the artisans a new market and helped sustain their livelihoods at a critical time.
homLiv’s product line features high-quality wooden kitchenware crafted from teak, mahogany, and legaran. The brand champions Indonesian craftsmanship and works closely with artisans in Yogyakarta, ensuring that every product supports both local culture and the economy. By engaging SMEs in the production process, homLiv not only drives local industry but also aims to connect these businesses with global markets.
The brand now supplies several major supermarkets across Java and sells up to 20,000 products each month. Its reputation for quality and purpose-driven growth has earned it spots in international exhibitions—including a notable one in Japan—and in 2024, homLiv achieved a major milestone by completing its first export to the Japanese market.
homLiv also made history as the first brand in Indonesia to offer halal-certified wooden kitchenware, underscoring its commitment to health, safety, and cultural sensitivity. This certification strengthens the brand’s trust with consumers and opens further access to both domestic and international markets with similar values.
Through innovation, a commitment to quality, and a strong connection to local communities, Yudiana Lyn and homLiv have turned a time of global crisis into a story of resilience, growth, and international recognition.
